Relaxing stay
+ Very lovely facilities, and staff. The cabin was of a fantastic standard and hand crafted by the owner so great pride is taken in it, It was my birthday and they accommodated my partner's request and even provided flowers. Also left some local honey and the nicest apple juice made from their own apples. Had a great 4 days and would definitely be back again. The outside bath was a extra special touch. Thank you
- Nothing negative. We loved it.

Craig,

Beautiful property, lovely hosts and so so calming. Would come back in a heartbeat.
+ The outdoor bath, outdoor fire and location were all fantastic.
- Nothing!

Codie,

Peaceful & private getaway close to nature with modern facilities
+ This place is a real gem and thoughtfully designed for a tranquil experience. If you are looking for quiet and relaxation, this spot is ideal. You have a private cabin next to an orchard and chicken overlooking a meadow with sheep. Very private and the cabin is modern to the point of glamping perhaps being the wrong word for it! The the living space is small but has a lot of storage and all the basics you need. The bathroom is modern with a shower and hot water from a gas boiler and the veranda can be used in any weather. Bed was very soft and comfortable with blackout blinds on every window. The thoughtful welcome you get is great: clear instructions for everything, milk, bread, local honey, coffee and apple juice. The outdoor bath is was a particular highlight after dark with fairy lights and listening to owls hooting in the dark.

I stayed with a close friend and would say you can only stay as a couple or with a friend you don’t mind clambering over in bed. There’s a fabulous pub in the village and otherwise it’s a short drive to Aberystwyth and shops. Do pay attention to the directions they give as some of the roads into the village are steep and windy.

Overall a magical stay!
- I don’t think there’s anything we were left wanting!

Laura,

Perfect break to unplug and unwind. Incredibly informative and warm hosts, with a cosy, well thought out and designed cabin. Beautiful scenery and well recommended for a stay.

J,

Dôl Swynol is a beautiful little place, it's set in a stunning area and is so peaceful. Good little getaway to get away from the rush of everyday life.
100% will be back!
Hospitality and the goodies made the experience even better.

T & C,

We loved the place no TV no neighbours cozy lodge the bath outside great idea.

V,

We had a truly magical stay at dol Swynol. The setting is so special, and the cabin is perfect. So much thought has gone into every beautiful detail. I enjoyed some stunning runs in the hills nearby with views out to the coast and we had the most incredible dinner at SY23 (Nathan Davies’ Michelin star restaurant in Aberystwyth). We cannot recommend it enough to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in west Wales.

A & C,

Me and my partner had an amazing time here.
I wanted a nice and relaxed getaway for my 40th, and it was just that and more.
Beautiful cabin . Well presented and a perfect comfort stay. The scenery was amazing.
Visited a few beaches, all short drives.
The drive was lovely with all the landscape around.
It's definitely worth the experience. Thank you very much.

D,

A delightful retreat from the daily grind!
Dôl Swynol has everything you could need, beautifully thought out and styled.
Despite inclement weather, we had some lovely walks (Hafod, Nant Bwlch yr Arian, Hill Fort Loop). We saw the osprey chicks at Dyfi and enjoyed a snooze on the beach when the sun popped out. In the evenings we enjoyed the view and had a couple of lovely meals at Y Ffarmers.
We also LOVE meadows! Outdoor bath and chiminea are wonderful.
Silence all around. Thank you for sharing your bit of paradise!

A,

Wow! This is such an incredible place to stay! We appreciated the attention to detail and the beautiful workmanship that has gone into creating this special cabin. Everything was of the highest standard, from the cabin itself, to the soft furnishings, to the delicious food supplies that were left for us to enjoy. The bed is so comfortable and the blackout blinds ensured we had a really good night's sleep.
And the location is just stunning: so much birdlife to watch and listen to, lovely walks and scenery to enjoy, and just so peaceful.
The outdoor bath is just wonderful, so much better than a hot tub. We will definitely be returning!
Thank you so much for a lovely couple of days, Dôl Swynol is an absolute gem.

J & S,

The setting is simply sublime, the outdoor bath gives the place a unique charm. Lovely place - can't wait to return!

M&H,

I booked for 3 nights,
The cabin impressed us from the moment we entered, quite spacious, full of color, modern. We like to cook and it's wonderful how you find everything you need to prepare your meal.
The exterior is gorgeous, we served breakfast (fresh eggs bought from the owners) and dinner on the terrace, clean and fresh air, wonderful view.
You also have the possibility to make a bbq, the owners are very nice and amazed us with how much care they thought of everything, we had everything we needed for the bbq and for our stay.
It was a short but very relaxing break, we will definitely come back.
Thank you again !!

F&G,

Fantastic set up, catered for every need! Beautiful cabin in beautiful setting - we will be back!!
Thank you.

K & L,

"Now as I was young and easy
happy as the grass was green,
The night above the dingle starry,
Time let me hail and climb
Golden in the heydays of his eyes,"

Dylan (Thomas) could have written it here, before the oak-lined stream in a field where ancient oak lives on well-trimmed and fashioned into the practical shelves and doors of an exceptionally charming and comfortable wood cabin.

A & P ,

Our expectations were pretty high and yet this cabin exceeded them! One of the best accommodations we've ever been to. It has all you might need and more. Hosts clearly thought about the smallest things, making this small cabin extremely spacious and cosy. Starting with appliances, through comfortable furniture (loungers for appreciating views, outdoor table for nice breakfasts and barbecue), all the way to fresh flowers and some greeting beverage. And most importantly - the hot bath under the stars at night or peaceful green fields through the day. Idyllic!

P ,

We came for a weekend break to get away from the stresses of life and didn't want to leave. Dol Swynol is a beautiful, hand crafted and well designed cabin on the edge of the small, historic village of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn. Marion and Peter have gone to great lengths to make sure the cabin is comfortable, cozy and a joy to stay in.. from the very welcome bottle of fizz, excellent fresh coffee and home pressed apple juice to the bathrobes, quality bedding and dinky woodburning stove. The ensuite is excellent and has a powerful shower and the kitchen is well equipped. Even though it rained during our stay we were still able to sit out and relax on the covered veranda, take in the glorious Welsh views and watch the sheep and the chickens near by. On the Sunday we had a lovely lunch at the Ffarmers pub, just 3 mins walk away, and then took a walk down to the river... we loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to go back !

L & J,

I feel changed from this 5 day stay: finding a deep reservoir of peace within. The cabin far exceeded my expectations: a masterpiece of artistry, lovingly crafted with many interesting aspects. Truly luxurious with fixtures and furnishings. Everything is superior quality - going to bed in Egyptian cotton sheets, showering with space and ease, fluffy towels and a skilfully equipped kitchen. The meadow is majestic, sitting out at night listening to the flow of the stream warmed by the chiminea was memorable. Such was the relaxation and joy of bathing in warmth under the stars I got up to do it at 3.30am! It has been a privilege to have experienced Dôl Swynol and Marion and Peter's hospitality.

S,

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is amazing and so peaceful and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you again for your hospitality.

K ,

Our 2nd time here and won't be our last. We wanted a break from the rat race and this gave 110% each time . . . . lovely views and all you need to just relax. xx

E & K ,

The experience itself was exactly what me and my other half needed and it exceeded all expectations!!
We thoroughly loved every minute of our stay in the glamping cabin . . . it truly is glamping . . . it had everything you need and the owners were amazing, nothing if needed was hassle! Looking forward to our next stay!

S&G,

Absolutely stunning, so picturesque!

T ,

Stayed here for just 2 nights but wish we would’ve stayed for longer, the most amazing, peaceful getaway. So close to the beach front and also shops but yet so deep into the beautiful welsh countryside with an amazing country pub just a few minutes walk away. I found the detail and all the little extras so lovely and made us feel so welcome and settled in such as the prosecco, local honey and fresh apple juice from their own apples. Marion and Pete were also very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back again and have told all of my friends and family about it.

A & S,

Was looking for a short break for me and my partner for her birthday and what a great find this was. Complete peace and tranquility. The meadow is lovely with views of the hills and birds and the sound of the water down at the stream was nice and relaxing. The cabin was cozy and spotlessly clean and very well built and done out with everything you need to stay should you just want to be self catering. The bathroom was nice and the shower fantastic BUT….. The outside bathtub was something else…what a great thing to be outside in the cold having a nice hot bath under the open sky…and it's big enough for two which was great…just keep topping up with hot water and stay in as long as you like then get cozy in front of the log burner but be warned it gets very warm inside…welcome pack was nice and Marion and Pete are great hosts going above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay and even a bit of shopping if needed. Marion made a lovely birthday cake for me to present to my partner and I have to say it was very nice ( thank you Marion)…. The pub / restaurant was very nice with a good selection of beer ales and gins should you choose to go and well worth it if you do…food is great staff are nice and friendly….this break is whatever you choose to make it and for us it was a fantastic place and a well needed break….it was a first for us but enjoyed it so much we’re already in process of booking again to go for my birthday…and we’ll most definitely be going again after that… quite possibly going to be a regular thing for us from now…bottom line…if this type of thing appeals to you then just do it you wont be disappointed.

K,

This is without doubt the loveliest and best thought out tiny home we've stayed in - absolutely loved it. The cabin itself is stunning - gorgeous handmade wood, fabulous quality furnishings (super comfy mattress, feather pillows, beautiful handmade panelling and doors) and the location is peaceful and beautiful. The Hobbit stove had us toasty and the outside bath is warm, private and great for listening to the owls calling in the meadow. Marion was an accommodating and stress free host. There's a Wild Guide pub just outside the gate and loads to do in the surrounding area. See Rheidol Falls or Black Covert. Can't wait to come again.

A & G,

Booked here for a little getaway birthday surprise. All I can say is WOW! Everyone I told about coming to Wales at this time of year thought we were going to freeze, (due to the fact it has been extremely cold and snowing all over the UK). They couldn’t have been more wrong. We have never felt so comfortable, cosy , warm and ‘at home’ from the minute we arrived. On the lead up to the trip we received emails to make sure we arrived safely (roads were extremely icy so Marion and Pete made sure we had instructions on what route to use for the safest possible journey). We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and checked on to see if we needed anything else during our stay. We were blown away by hospitality shown. The stove was set up for us, we had local apple juice, butter, bread and a bottle of Cava! - The facilities are fantastic!!! - the shower - WOW! Was not expecting that much water pressure, but it’s better than my one at home! Outdoor bath looks unreal (unfortunately we did not use this because as I said it’s very Baltic conditions) - completely our choice not to, as Marion and Pete did text to see if we would like to use it! Everything you need is here and the hosts will check to see if you need anything! My partner loves star gazing and this is another benefit, we have never seen a more beautiful sky during the night and the setting is perfect for it! (My partner especially loved the binoculars provided in the cabin - lovely touch!) The bed is super comfy and honestly makes for the best nights sleep EVER! We ate in Y Ffarmers which is 3 minute walk, the food was gorgeous! We also ventured around a bit and it truly is the most peaceful getaway. We are going home tomorrow (we are very sad about this, but we will 100% be returning and recommending to as many people as possible!) Marion and Pete - thank you!! What an amazing place.

L,

I have a demanding job and wanted to take a break so I could switch off. Dôl Swynol was the perfect location for this. From the moment I arrived I felt completely at peace with the natural environment and loved being able to look out at open fields and greenery. I was able to relax quite quickly and loved switching off and enjoying some me time. The local supplies which Marion and Pete had left for me were amazing - and delicious. Everything that had been done was done with thought and I couldn’t have asked for anything more for such a wonderful break. And the outdoor bath was out of this world - I have to agree with another user's review, it’s much much better than a hot tub.

R,

Being able to watch red kites riding the thermals over the Welsh hills and trees from my bed is an experience I won't forget quickly. It's been so relaxing to be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature and have the opportunity to switch off entirely from the human world for a while.
Dôl Swynol is a perfect place for a restorative solo retreat with gentle nature luxuries like the cosiness of the wood burner and the novelty of the outdoor bath. The experience of being in the elements, under the stars, while entirely relaxed and warmly comfortable in the bath is enlivening. Aesthetically, it's very friendly and comforting: you can feel the care which has gone into creating the space, which creates a richness of place made up of a balance of simplicity and sumptuousness. It's a tonic for the fast paced, identikit disposable culture which we have to contend with in so-called civilisation.
Everything I needed for a proper break and mental reset is here, including excellent food and hospitality at Y Ffarmers. Thank you Marion and Pete for this lovely time!
P.S. An outdoor bath is nicer than a hot tub because you can have nice bath oils scenting the air rather than nasty chemicals, and it's far more eco friendly. Good choice🙂.

G,

I booked Dôl Swynol Glamping cabin as a birthday surprise for my partner. I will admit to having never glamped before I worried after booking it with the threat of a typically wet and windy October Welsh weekend on the horizon maybe a stay in a hotel would have been a better plan ... I had absolutely no need to worry, the cabin was the most divine, idyllic, warm and cosy hideaway! Pete and Marion were so welcoming and talking to Pete about the cabin his pride in it shines through and rightly so. If you have the opportunity to stay here you will feel the quality and comfort of the building giving you a warm, gentle hug, you will not be disappointed. Everything has been thought through for the perfect stay in a gorgeous meadow. We both left on the Sunday relaxed and refreshed and wishing we could stay longer. Thank you Dôl Swynol.

J,

Many thanks for a wonderful stay at Dol Swynol cabin in its idyllic location.
Everything was 1st class, from the simple booking procedure, warm welcome and fantastic attention to detail in construction of the cabin.
A perfect place to relax from modern life, enjoy peace, wildlife and dark skies.
We hope to return soon.

J & S,

We had the most wonderful time here this weekend! Best apples I’ve ever eaten!

J & M,

We had an amazing stay and it was fantastic!! Can’t recommend enough.

T & K,

We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back in the future.

C & S,

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already planning another visit in the winter months. Thank you for an amazing stay.

K & S,

Cannot recommend this cabin enough! Perfect retreat to unwind and relax, the cabin itself was clean, comfortable and decorated beautifully.

A & K,

Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay in the cabin! It is beautifully designed and it makes it extra special that lots of it is locally sourced or handcrafted by local tradespeople. The bed is very comfortable, we often pick this style of Airbnb for our holidays and it's the best bed we have had so far! The chickens are such cute friendly neighbours and Marion left us some of their very tasty eggs for us to have.
The hosts have thought of everything, including the snuggly robes for getting to and from the bath, great kitchenware, local map and plenty of storage for clothes and bags.
We took our road bikes so we could cycle to Aberystwyth - we recommend getting to the cycle route along the river (through a farm and across a bridge) to the south if you want a flatter route but we probably needed gravel bikes to avoid having to walk some sections of it (the other way along the B road was much hillier but quite fun if you enjoy that!).
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay as a surprise for my 30th birthday (and during a heatwave) - if you are thinking of booking then go for it!

B & B ,

Thank you both for a lovely stay - it was spot on. You can really see how much work you've put into it. Well done, and best of luck with it. Hope to book again at some point.

T & L,
